HUB 360 After-School Program 26-27

The HUB 360 After-School Program provides a safe and welcoming environment for middle school students in the Central Valley School District. Each program site focuses on different activities, offering students a variety of ways to engage, learn, and have fun with their schoolmates. Whether they want to hang out, learn new skills, or play games, there’s something for everyone.

The program follows the school calendar. If there's an early dismissal or no school, the program will not be in session.

Must be pre-registered.

• Bowdish Middle School (2109 S Skipworth Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206):
  Who: Bowdish students
  Cooking Club
  
  

• HUB Sports Center (19619 E. Cataldo Ave., Liberty Lake, WA 99016):
  Who: Greenacres and Selkirk students
  Activities: Games/Sports, Arts & Crafts, Homework Help, Enrichment

Parents/guardians must pick up students from their program sites. Students wishing to walk/bike home must have permission on file from parent/guardian. 

This program was developed to address a trend identified by numerous nationwide studies that have identified the hours from 3:00-6:00pm on school days as the most dangerous for middle school students, especially for latchkey kids. These are the hours when kids get into trouble. Studies also show the powerful long-term positive impact that a mentor can have in a middle school student's life. The combination of food, caring, mentoring and rigorous physical exercise has proven to be a powerful healer in a troubled student's life. Such programs are viewed as crucial to improving the high school graduation rates for this group. Strong data show that middle school is the last, best chance to reach these kids.
